Feel at home.
Ruach Dromit is an organization,
an initiative, an idea and a model, but above all – Ruach Dromit is a home.
Let’s start from the beginning…
For over ten years, we at Ruach Dromit have been embracing the cancer-patient community in the Negev.
Through dialogue, touch, lectures, community, and mostly through professional and meticulous complementary medical treatments; we join the journey, alleviate the symptoms, lessen the mental stress, and create a safe and pleasant envelope to those battling cancer and their families through a variety of programs.
Our activities
Ruach Dromit works to provide complementary medical treatments to cancer patients and their families, and to make them accessible to residents of the South of Israel. The organization operates in the Ruach Dromit Center, the Oncology Departments at the Soroka Hospital the children’s Hematology-Oncology Department, and through Hospice Homecare. In parallel, the organization operates additional projects that benefit oncology patients, their families, and the entire community. Among them are enrichment meetings, lectures, retreats for those battling cancer, as well as the Otfim B’Maga project for Gaza-border residents and members of Israel’s security forces.
Activities in the Soroka Oncology Departments
Complementary medicine in all its nuances is highly effective. It was found to alleviate the side effects and pain associated with the disease and its treatment, and to influence the patient’s quality of life and day-to-day coping. Furthermore, it provides calmness and tranquility and reduces the accompanying stress and tension.
Dotan’s Angels
Children who are battling cancer face many challenges: the physiological changes caused by the treatments, the mental predicaments, the physical pain, and the separation from society and educational surroundings. Ruach Dromit joins their journey to alleviate the symptoms and support the healing process, and envelops them and their families with warmth and understanding.
Just Because of the Spirit in Memory of Arieh Guedj – Hospice Homecare
The Just Because of the Spirit unit includes a team of volunteers who are certified in complementary medicine and who have a remarkable approach to the soul. This unit is the initiative of Ms. Orly Guedj in memory of her late husband, Arieh Guedj, and was made possible through her generosity.
Retreats
Battling cancer is a journey that entails many complexities. The physical limitations, reduced functionality, changes in domestic roles, changed appearance, and thoughts about the future– all carry a significant mental impact. This mental complexity, which at times remains even post-cure, is what motivated us to initiate the ‘Healing Together’ retreat– a boutique retreat that we like to view as a boost to the soul.
Otfim B’Maga
Otfim B’Maga – complementary treatments for evacuees from the Gaza Border communities and Northern Israel. As a result of the current war, tens of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes across the country. Many of them experienced the horrors of October 7. Ruach Dromit travelled to the hotels where the evacuees were housed, and with a team of 10-15 volunteers, provided varied complementary medical treatments, for free.
A team of caregivers
A collection of amazing, professionally certified, big-hearted volunteers who share their magical touch and experience with anyone in need.
The volunteer work brings about a different kind of calmness in itself. There is no ticking clock, a busy waiting room or a need to provide under pressure. This giving comes from a profound and genuine place.

We’re here to give
The treatments at the Ruach Dromit Center are provided to cancer patients and their family members at a symbolic fee of only NIS 75 per treatment, and the treatments provided in the various Soroka Hospital units and through the Home Hospice Project are completely free of charge. The public at large is also invited to enjoy treatments at the highest level, at an affordable rate of NIS 150 per treatment – a fee which constitutes a donation to the organization’s programming.
